? Socialize with the teens on Sunday mornings
? Help plan and sponsor a monthly activity

Job Responsibilities:

The Shelter Services Assistant, in the absence of the Shelter Services Supervisor, is responsible to oversee all shelter related evening activities, help coordinate the overall evening Mission activities, refer problems and concerns to appropriate KCRM staff and in general assist in providing a stable, safe and spiritually wholesome environment at the Kansas City Rescue Mission.

Qualifications desired: Some College Education.  Administrative Experience a plus.  Helpful if previous experience with homeless populace.
Attitude:  A positive and upbeat yet firm and assertive disposition- able to work with difficult clients regularly both to befriend and encourage, but to hold accountable.

We have been a nondenominational group of young adults that get together and study Gods word usually a chapter a week. We are now only a few people but  would like to grow to about 10. AseraCare Hospice is Seeking Volunteers

Are you a licensed barber, or nail technician? Or certified to provide Healing Touch or massage?

Do you enjoy reading to others, playing a musical instrument, listening to music, watching videos, playing cards. Or working with arts and crafts?

Would you want to share your time by helping others with minor chores like picking up their mail, doing light housekeeping jobs or filling their bird feeder?

Would you be interested to hear someone share the story of their life with you?

What do volunteers do?

        • Visit patients and families, and provide a “listening ear”
        • Run errands, such as grocery shopping
        • Provide respite relief for family caregivers for brief periods of time
        • Listen to patients’ remembrances
        • Read or write letters for patients
        • Hold a hand
        • Give a Hug
        • Offer support to the family after the patient’s death

How much time must I give?

We like for volunteers to give at least two hours of support each week, but you dictate the amount of time you have to give. Any time that you spend with a patient contributes to his or her quality of life and provides much needed support to the family.

full-time volunteer positions through the Corporation for National and Community Service.

 

NCM USA/Canada is located in the Global Ministry Center for the International Church of the Nazarene, in Lenexa KS. We are currently recruiting to fill two (2) volunteer positions.  The qualified candidate should have an interest in assisting the department in building its capacity to organize, resource, and equip districts throughout the denomination in their ability to respond effectively to national disasters through Nazarene Disaster Response (NDR).  In addition, the applicant will also assist the department in coordinating and developing resources to strengthen the organizational and developmental capacity of more than 180 Compassionate Ministry Centers throughout the United States and Canada.
